We have an opening for a Stores Controller at a warehouse-style retailer in East London, Eastern Cape. You will manage stock receiving, storage, and distribution to the sales floor, conduct stock counts, maintain stock security, and ensure the storeroom is organised and safe. Experience with stock management systems is beneficial. Responsibilities Handle customer returns and exchanges professionally, adhering to company policies while maintaining customer satisfaction. Merchandise stock on shelves and displays according to planograms and visual standards, ensuring shelves are fully faced and tidy. Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. Assist customers with product selection by providing knowledgeable advice and recommendations to enhance their shopping experience. Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the store including the sales floor, fitting rooms, stockroom, and staff areas. Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and identify shrinkage issues promptly. Open and close the store following security procedures including cashing up, locking up, and setting alarms. Requirements A professional and well-presented appearance reflecting the brand image of the retail establishment. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail, particularly for cashier and stock control positions. A minimum of one to three years of retail experience with proven customer service skills in a store environment. A Grade 12 certificate is the minimum requirement; a retail or business-related qualification is advantageous. Flexibility to work retail hours including weekends, public holidays, and late trading evenings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with customers and team members.
