Join our dedicated team as a F02 Security Guard Officer at a Brooklyn Shelters, where your vigilance and compassion will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for vulnerable populations. In this dynamic role, you will oversee security operations, manage access control, and respond effectively to incidents, ensuring the safety of residents, staff, and visitors. Your proactive approach and strong communication skills will help foster a sense of safety and trust within the shelter community.
Duties
Monitor entrances and exits to regulate access for residents, staff, visitors, and service providers Conduct regular patrols of the shelter premises to identify potential security issues or safety hazards Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or incidents, including crisis intervention when necessary Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incident reports, and security observations Assist with intake procedures and facilitate communication between residents and social services teams Support behavioral health initiatives by managing conflict situations with professionalism and empathy Collaborate with case management staff to ensure safety protocols are followed and support residents’ well-being
Requirements
Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to de-escalate conflicts calmly and effectively Experience in childcare, addiction counseling, or behavioral health is a plus Knowledge of conflict management, social work principles, and behavior management strategies Ability to perform first aid and medication administration as needed Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse populations and collaborating with team members Proficiency in data entry, filing, data collection, and basic administrative tasks such as intake documentation

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
