Job Title: Deputy Manager - Budgeting & Cost Control
Department: Budgeting & Cost Control
Location: Kolkata
Role Purpose
To manage project budgeting, cost control, and financial planning by ensuring timely preparation, monitoring, and analysis of budgets, BOQs, cash flows, and cost performance, enabling effective financial decision-making and project efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Budget Management
Prepare and revise project budgets in a timely manner Provide detailed justification for any budget revisions Monitor and control budget deviations (%)
2. Budget vs Actual Analysis
Conduct periodic Budget vs Actual reviews Identify variances and recommend corrective actions Support stakeholders with financial insights
3. BOQ & BOM Management
Ensure stage-wise preparation of BOQ & BOM within timelines Coordinate with project and procurement teams for accuracy
4. Cash Flow Management
Prepare monthly cash flow projections Monitor quarterly cash flow trends and requirements
5. Material Reconciliation
Verify material consumption based on RA bill submissions Ensure accuracy and accountability in material usage
6. Cost Analysis & Benchmarking
Perform cost and co-efficient comparison across project segments Identify cost optimization opportunities
7. DBR Review & Stakeholder Coordination
Review DBR prepared by the Design team Provide inputs aligned with budget and financial considerations Collaborate with cross-functional teams for decision-making
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Finance / Engineering (MBA preferred) 8-12 years of experience in budgeting, cost control, or project finance Experience in construction/real estate preferred
