Armed Security Guard

Security GuardA Security Guard comprises the base element of security services. General duties and responsibilities including providing security services to a variety of clients. These duty posts include Federal government, manufacturing and distribution facilities, schools and colleges, religious institutions, retail sites and any other fixed or temporary location as needed or required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Protect property and livesMonitor entrance/egress of propertyIdentify visitors and ask for appropriate documentation.Guard against theft and maintain securityRespond to alarms and calls of distressComplete accurate daily & incident reports by recording observations, information occurrences and surveillance activitiesPrevent passage of prohibited vehicles into restricted areasPrevent access to unauthorized personsInspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational useRegulate and monitor building systemsInspect windows and doors to ensure locks are in place and workingComplete all required security logsCommunicate effectively with client management, employees, and visitorsQualifications Must have a High School diploma or GEDMust be at least 21 years of age and legally possess a firearm.Can operate a firearm, pass firearms qualification courses and can receive appropriate licensures (Security Guard Permit - MS Department of Public Safety, Firearm Permit Division)Maintain professionalism and ability to wear a uniform neatly and correctlyAbility to provide excellent customer service verbally and in writing.Must have the ability be alert and appropriately deal with escalated and crisis/emergency situations.Ability to multi-taskAbility to operate a computer and other security devices.Depending on the client and state, must be able to obtain required training and licensures.Physical Demands (Expectations include, but not limited to, one or more of the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation) EOE/M/F/VET/Disabilities EmployerVEVRAA Federal Contractor * Priority referrals for protected veterans*We participate in the E-Verify Employment Verification Program
