Summer Cleaning Roles (Fixed Term: June 8th - September 18th, 2026)

Want to spend your summer in a vibrant, dynamic environment? The University of York's Directorate of Facilities Management & Campus Services (DFMCS) is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Cleaning Services team this summer!

About Us: DFMCS plays a crucial role in providing outstanding facilities for work, study, and research, enhancing the student experience both on campus and online. You'll be a vital part of keeping our beautiful campus clean and welcoming!

Your Role:

Ensure allocated campus areas are cleaned to a high standard.

Perform general cleaning duties as directed by your Supervisor or Cleaning Manager.

Learn to use cleaning materials and equipment safely and efficiently.

Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

A structured work schedule: 20 hours per week, primarily 9:30 am - 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

What You'll Bring:

Ability to undertake manual handling tasks, including lifting linen bundles and operating floor cleaning machinery.

Flexibility to work weekdays and some weekends.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Basic computer literacy (email, online systems).

A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent service.

Evidence of upholding our behaviours (included in our accompanying Job Description).

Important Dates:

Fixed Term Contract: Week commencing June 8th, 2026 - Friday, September 18th, 2026.

Please note: Limited leave available between August 31st - September 11th, 2026.
