Security Guard

We have an opening for a Security Guard in a 24-hour control room in George, Western Cape. You will monitor alarms and CCTV feeds from multiple sites, dispatch armed response units, log all incidents accurately, and maintain communication with clients and field personnel. Strong computer literacy and a calm disposition are required.

Responsibilities Perform regular checks of security equipment including alarms, cameras, radios, and access control systems to ensure functionality. Provide excellent customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors while maintaining a firm and professional security presence. Write detailed and accurate incident reports describing security events, observations, and actions taken for management review. Supervise and coordinate a team of security officers, managing shift rosters and ensuring all posts are adequately staffed. Conduct regular patrols of the assigned premises on foot or by vehicle, checking for security breaches, hazards, and suspicious activity. Control access to buildings and sites by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining an accurate access register.

Requirements A minimum of one to two years of experience in the security industry with a proven track record of reliability. Grade 12 certificate is preferred; Grade 10 may be acceptable for certain entry-level positions. Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods, conduct foot patrols, and respond quickly to incidents. A valid PSIRA registration at the appropriate grade level for the position being applied for. A clear criminal record is mandatory and subject to regular review as per PSIRA requirements.
