You'll work alongside experienced legal and claims professionals and have the autonomy to make meaningful decisions on highstakes matters. What You'll Do Independently manage largeloss and catastrophic CGL claims, with a strong emphasis on New York Labor Law (Sections 200, 240, 241). Lead thorough investigations of complex losses, identifying coverage issues, liability defenses, and potential risk transfer opportunities. Analyze construction contracts, indemnification agreements, and insurance policies to assess priority of coverage and pursue contractual risk transfer. Partner closely with panel defense counsel, developing and executing effective litigation strategies from inception through resolution. Evaluate liability, damages, and exposure by reviewing pleadings, expert reports, medical records, deposition transcripts, and other key evidence. Proactively negotiate and resolve claims through settlement, mediation, or trial strategy, balancing legal risk and business objectives. Establish, monitor, and adjust indemnity and expense reserves in accordance with best practices and financial accuracy standards. Conduct interviews of insureds, claimants, witnesses, and experts to support defensible claim outcomes. Ensure timely and accurate payment of indemnity and expense invoices. Attend hearings, mediations, trials, and settlement conferences as needed.QualificationsWhat We're Looking For 10+ years of experience handling commercial general liability (CGL) and/or BOP liability claims. 5+ years of direct experience adjusting New York Labor Law claims with exposures of $500,000+, including litigated matters. Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) and active attorney license strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to interpret insurance coverage, analyze policy language, and assess complex contractual relationships. Strong understanding of litigation strategy, motion practice, and defense of constructionrelated claims in New York. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes with internal and external stakeholders. Highly organized, detailoriented, and comfortable managing a complex, highseverity caseload. Proficiency with claims management systems and standard business technology. Willingness to travel occasionally for hearings, mediations, trials, and conferences.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
