Pay Rate: $23.50 an hour SUMMARY To support the carpentry team in the construction, maintenance, and repair of facility interiors and exteriors. This role is responsible for maintaining job site cleanliness, transporting materials, staging tools, and assisting Carpenters with basic tasks. The Assistant ensures that the skilled tradespeople have the resources needed to work efficiently while providing high-level guest service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Carpenters and Lead Carpenters with various tasks including holding materials, stabilizing ladders, and basic assemblyAct as the primary "runner" for the department; retrieve supplies from the warehouse, pick up orders from vendors, and transport materials to various job sites across the propertyMaintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris, sweeping work areas, and disposing of waste materials according to safety standardsSet up and break down job sites by transporting all necessary tools and equipment to the work area and returned to the shop in clean, working orderPerform entry-level carpentry tasks such as sanding, basic demolition, and prep work under the direct supervision of a CarpenterEnsure any department vehicles used for running materials are kept clean and fueledKNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and Certification Required: High School Diploma or GED preferredValid Driver's LicenseBasic familiarity with hand tools and power toolsProven ability to follow strict safety instructions Skills Required: Must be punctual and able to follow a scheduleAbility to take direction well and ask clarifying questions to ensure tasks are done correctlyA "hustle" mentality to ensure materials reach the crew without delaying the project Abilities Required: Ability to work fast and efficiently in a support roleAbility to complete multiple tasks in a professional mannerAbility to maintain high confidentialityAbility to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygieneAbility to interact with guests, coworkers, and management in a professional and courteous mannerREQUIRED TRAININGTreasure Island guest service trainingBloodborne Pathogens trainingTool safety orientationPHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to walk and/or stand for long periods of timeMust be able to bend, kneel, and climb laddersMust be able to push, pull, and grasp objects routinelyMust be able to independently lift 50+ pounds routinelyMust have manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordinationWORKING ENVIRONMENTOffice, gaming floor, and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises, and cigarette smokeMaintenance shop environment including excessive noise, such as power tools, dust, and fumesRequired to work in extreme weather (wet, damp, high wind, ice, and snow) while transporting materialsMust be able to work in cramped, tight quartersMust be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends, and holidays
