About this role

Job Description We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to oversee the development, deployment, and management of our AI Factory, a critical infrastructure that enables the company to unlock value from data and transform healthcare practices through artificial intelligence (AI). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and operating a scalable and efficient AI Factory that supports the company's AI strategy, ensuring seamless execution of the AI life cycle.

This is a cross-functional role responsible for driving the identification, working with the Technology organization in development, and deployment of AI solutions across our health plan organization. This high-visibility position will play a critical role in guiding and transforming our organization through AI-powered innovation, ensuring strategic alignment, and delivering measurable return on investment (ROI).

Key Responsibilities

Co-Develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy, aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation and growth. Lead cross-functional teams to identify business problems and develop AI-powered solutions. Work with stakeholders to prioritize AI projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities Work closely and collaborate with the technology organization to ensure solutions developed align with the business aspirations and can scale across the enterprise. Build, lead, and manage a high-performing team to deploy and drive adoption of AI strategies across the organization. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to leverage their expertise, technologies, and services to enhance the AI Factory. Develop and implement AI governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational values. Identify and mitigate AI-related risks, such as bias, data quality, and security - internally and with third parties. Ensure the AI Factory infrastructure and operations meet the company's security and compliance standards, protecting sensitive data and AI models. Develop and execute a deployment strategy to ensure AI solutions are integrated into business operations. Drive adoption and usage of AI solutions across the organization, ensuring successful change management while coordinating closely with the Technology Organization. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and ROI of AI investments. Analyze and report on AI solution performance, identifying areas for improvement. Collaborate with data scientists and engineers within the Technology organization to develop, deploy, and manage AI models, ensuring seamless integration with business applications.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or additional related work experience. 10+ years of experience in IT, AI, or data science, with 5+ years in a leadership role, preferably in a health plan or payer environment. 3+ years of experience with AI/ML experience in solution development, deployment, or adoption, preferably in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in languages such as Python, R, SQL, and Java. Experience with popular AI/ML frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Keras. Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with data management principles, including data warehousing, data lakes, and data governance. Understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, with experience in change management and organizational transformation. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

Master's degree Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including health plans, payers, and providers. Experience with healthcare IT systems, including EHRs, claims processing, and care management. Experience with cloud-based AI solutions, including AWS SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning, or Google Cloud AI Platform. Experience with data science tools, including Jupyter Notebooks, Apache Spark, or Hadoop.
