Half Day Accountant

Are you a detail-driven finance professional with strong analytical skills and experience in complex financial environments? We are looking for a Financial Manager to join a dynamic team operating within the business rescue and turnaround space.

The Financial Manager will play a key role in supporting Business Rescue Practitioners (BRPs) by managing financial data, ensuring compliance, and assisting in the preparation and execution of business rescue plans.

Key Responsibilities

* Collect, review, and organise financial records (AFS, management accounts, supporting schedules)

* Prepare financial information for analysis and business rescue planning

* Manage and reconcile creditor claims and maintain accurate registers

* Compile and maintain asset registers

* Develop and manage 13-week rolling cash flow forecasts

* Prepare weekly dashboards and monthly financial reports

* Oversee payment processes and liaise with banks (including mandate changes)

* Maintain Post-Commencement Finance (PCF) records

* Ensure SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax)

* Assist in drafting Annual Financial Statements

* Support the preparation of Business Rescue Plan financials

* Facilitate dividend distributions to creditors

* Implement financial controls and ensure audit readiness

* Prepare reports for stakeholders and regulatory compliance

* Assist with due diligence and liquidation scenario calculations

Internal Financial Management

* Compile invoices and manage timesheets

* Maintain debtor accounts and follow up on outstanding payments

* Prepare payment packs for approval

* Organise and submit financial documents to accountants

* Perform monthly internal financial reviews

Minimum Requirements

* BCom in Accounting / Financial Management (or equivalent)

* Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance or accounting

* Strong knowledge of financial statements, reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting

* Experience with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks)

* Advanced Excel skills

* Knowledge of SARS processes and compliance

Advantageous

* Experience in business rescue, liquidation, or turnaround environments

* Professional designation (SAIPA / SAICA / CIMA / AGA(SA)) – completed or in progress

Other Requirements

* Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle

Pay: R15 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month
