Join Our Team! With over 50 years of experience in recreation and entertainment facility management, United Skates of America is proud to provide fun, safe environments for families and communities. We are currently hiring at Skateland Indy, our premier roller-skating facility located at: 3902 N. Glen Arm Rd, Indianapolis, IN Our facility features roller and inline skating, a large arcade, a redemption shop, a pizza café, and some of the best birthday parties in town!
Position Overview We are looking for a proactive, observant, and customer-focused Security Guard who helps create both a safe and welcoming environment. This is not your typical security role—you will be one of the first and last impressions our guests have. Your personality should shine. You should greet guests warmly, remain approachable, and maintain professionalism while ensuring the safety of all patrons and staff.
Key Responsibilities Conduct bag checks to ensure safety and policy compliance Perform wanding/security screenings when necessary Ensure all required waivers are completed by guests Perform routine walk-throughs of the building and exterior perimeter Monitor crowd activity and maintain awareness of surroundings at all times Assist with parking operations, including directing and guiding guests as needed Provide excellent guest service, including greeting guests upon arrival Support exit marketing efforts by thanking guests and distributing promotional materials During downtime, assist team members with light operational tasks such as:
Collecting or organizing wrist guards Supporting general rink upkeep Observe, report, and identify suspicious or concerning behavior:
Communicate clearly with management and/or law enforcement Provide accurate descriptions of individuals and incidents Help de-escalate situations calmly and professionally when needed
Qualifications Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Friendly, approachable, and confident demeanor Ability to stay alert, observant, and calm under pressure Comfortable interacting with guests, staff, and law enforcement Strong communication and incident reporting skills Ability to follow procedures and enforce policies consistently Prior security or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required
Presentation & Grooming Maintain a clean, professional appearance at all times Must wear required uniform and appropriate pants Adhere to company grooming and appearance standards
