Responsibilities and duties As the Project Engineer you will: • Assist with technical expertise across all areas of site and project management. With specific focus on boiler systems and the management of outage preparations. around such projects, including writing detailed work scopes and methodologies. • Collaborate closely with Maintenance and Operations teams, serving as the primary link for defect resolution and project coordination. • Support the Maintenance Manager with day-to-day activities required to deliver work in line with the outage plans including safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives. • Assist in managing major and minor project schedules and ensuring that the plan is adhered to, whilst identifying risks to the schedule and the environment. • Manage contracts from initiation to completion. • Provide technical support on plant issues. Prepare documentation, reports and project updates. • Ensure a strong SHE performance through compliance with policy, legislation and application of industry best practice. • Assist with the financial control of projects. Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. • Assist with ensuring a smooth transition from the development phase to the project phase and from project phase to the operational phase. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: • Time-served apprentice in a relevant engineering discipline is essential • Experience on power stations or other similar heavy industrial sites (petrochemical / refineries / CHP plant) is essential • A HNC in a relevant engineering discipline is highly desirable • An IOSH or similar safety certificate is preferred • A Project Management / APMP / Prince2 qualification is preferred Personal skills The Project Engineer role would suit someone who has: • A sharp eye for detail and a careful approach to getting things right. • Great problem-solving skills, thinking quickly to overcome challenges. • Clear and easy communication, working well with different teams.
