Position Summary The Export Compliance Specialist will take responsibility for Parker Hannifin’s Trade Compliance Program for the ZA Operations in the areas of import/export transactions and Export Control regulations. The Position reports to the EMEA Foreign Trade Manager and proactively works to minimize compliance risk while maximizing operational and cost efficiency. Responsibilities Function as an expert resource to all Parker ZA Operations in the areas of import/export transactions, Export Control regulations, Free Trade Agreements, (Bonded Warehouse is an advantage), policies and procedures with a strategic focus to streamline efficiencies and ensure compliance with regulations Design, implement and manage a robust trade compliance program for the ZA Operations, including the ongoing development and maintenance of local procedures and training program Conduct risk assessments, identify compliance issues, and oversee implementation of corrective measures, assist with governmental audits Manage import transactions on operational level: handle broker requests, ensure data quality and import entry file completeness, lead times and import entry archiving in document management system Implement and manage internal import compliance audits Monitor utilization of beneficial duties (Free Trade Agreements), apply for refund if required Ensure compliant application of Tariff Codes (HTS) and Country of Origin Support Parker’s international cargo security and AEO licensing programs. Qualifications Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s/master’s degree in business, law or comparable Min. 3 years’ experience in Trade Compliance (main focus on import compliance) Ability to contribute expertise in a matrix organization Excellent interpersonal and communicational skills Continuous learning ability in a very dynamic environment Fluent in English, further languages would be preferred/an added advantage EMEA Business Descr Parker Hannifin EMEA Sàrl (“PHEMEA”), based in Etoy, Switzerland, is the Principal Operating Company for Parker in the EMEA region.
