Production Worker

A manufacturing company in Polokwane, Limpopo is seeking a Production Worker to join its production team. Duties include operating machinery, assembling products on the production line, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean workstation. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities Operate production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures, ensuring safe and efficient operation at all times. Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures including wearing prescribed personal protective equipment such as safety boots, goggles, and gloves. Perform in-process quality checks by inspecting products for defects, dimensional accuracy, and visual appearance at specified intervals. Report any equipment malfunctions, quality defects, or safety hazards to the shift supervisor immediately to prevent injuries and production delays. Move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods between workstations and storage areas using trolleys or pallet jacks.

Requirements Previous experience in a factory, manufacturing, or production environment is advantageous. Willingness to work shifts including night shift, weekends, and public holidays as required by production schedules. Basic numeracy and literacy to read work instructions, complete production records, and understand safety signage. Good attention to detail to identify product defects and quality issues during in-process checks. Ability to follow instructions accurately and adhere to standard operating procedures without deviation.
