Employee in this position performs a varied range of repetitious labor maintenance functions during the annual maintenance cycle, to facilitate the repair, maintenance and construction of County roadways. Repetitive labor functions during annual maintenance cycle.Safe and efficient use of a variety of hand tools.Safe and efficient operation of light trucks, mowers and other equipment used on road projects.Work as flagger when necessary.Minor repair and servicing of assigned equipment.Perform other tasks as directed.Ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions.Ability to work independently in the performance of regular duties of the position.Knowledge and skill in the minor repair, service and operation of assigned equipment.Ability to make decisions pertaining to safety.Ability to effectively communicate with fellow workers, supervision and the general public.Ability to remain constantly alert, both mentally and physically and remain calm in road emergency situations.Ability to obtain licenses and certificates as required.Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.High school diploma, or equivalent.Valid Washington State Drivers' LicenseFlaggers Certificate, or ability to obtain.
