Industrial Engineer

Our client, a mining company near Mossel Bay, Western Cape, requires a Industrial Engineer to support the engineering maintenance function. You will develop preventative maintenance strategies for critical equipment, analyse failure data, and manage engineering projects to upgrade infrastructure. Heavy industrial or mining experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes for industrial plant and equipment to maximise reliability. Conduct technical analyses including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and structural integrity using industry-standard software. Monitor and control project budgets, schedules, and resources, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures. Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, simulations, and technical specifications for civil, mechanical, electrical, or process systems. Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated.

Requirements A minimum of five to eight years of postgraduate engineering experience with demonstrable project achievements in the relevant sector. Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software relevant to the discipline such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or MATLAB. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across engineering disciplines for integrated project outcomes. A bachelor's degree in engineering in the relevant discipline from a university accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa. Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements applicable in South Africa.
