Live Event Sound Technician

Sound Technician We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sound Technician to support a classical music concert on May 14th '26, at University of Texas Bates Recital Hall (Robert Dedman Dr, Austin, TX 78712). This role requires technical expertise, precision, and the ability to collaborate closely with performers and production staff to ensure an exceptional audio experience. Key Responsibilities • Set up, test, and operate sound equipment, including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, and cabling. • Read and interpret technical riders to ensure all audio requirements are met in advance of the performance. • Conduct sound checks with performers and make necessary adjustments for optimal acoustics. • Monitor audio levels throughout the event and make real-time adjustments as needed. • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues quickly and efficiently. • Coordinate with the Event Coordinator, performers, and venue staff regarding audio needs and timing. • Ensure proper microphone placement and stage setup in accordance with performance requirements. • Maintain and safely handle all audio equipment before, during, and after the event. • Assist with load-in and load-out of sound equipment. • Restore equipment and workspace to original condition following the event. • Serve as a professional and reliable technical representative of the Concerts in America brand. Candidate Profile • Experience in live sound reinforcement, preferably in classical or acoustic settings • Ability to read and interpret technical riders and stage plots • Strong understanding of audio equipment and signal flow • Detail-oriented with a strong ear for sound quality and balance • Calm and solution-oriented under pressure • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Reliable, punctual, and well-organized • Able to work independently • Professional demeanor and commitment to high production standards Pay: From $300.00 per day Ability to Commute: • Austin, TX 78712 (Required) Work Location: In person
