We are recruiting a Line Operator for a food processing plant in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will work on the production line sorting, packing, and labelling products, following strict hygiene and food safety protocols. The role requires working in a temperature-controlled environment and wearing appropriate protective clothing.ResponsibilitiesRecord production data including output quantities, downtime, and quality check results on daily production sheets.Move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods between workstations and storage areas using trolleys or pallet jacks.Perform in-process quality checks by inspecting products for defects, dimensional accuracy, and visual appearance at specified intervals.Package finished products by labelling, boxing, and palletising according to customer specifications and dispatch requirements.Report any equipment malfunctions, quality defects, or safety hazards to the shift supervisor immediately to prevent injuries and production delays.Assemble products or components on the production line following work instructions, achieving daily output targets while maintaining quality standards.RequirementsAbility to follow instructions accurately and adhere to standard operating procedures without deviation.Physical fitness and ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and work in a noisy or temperature-controlled environment.Good attention to detail to identify product defects and quality issues during in-process checks.Previous experience in a factory, manufacturing, or production environment is advantageous.Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for maintaining production schedules and team efficiency.Basic numeracy and literacy to read work instructions, complete production records, and understand safety signage.Willingness to work shifts including night shift, weekends, and public holidays as required by production schedules.QualificationsNational Certificate in Manufacturing Operations
