Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy bar and restaurant. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, exceptional hospitality skills, and extensive knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage service. This role involves managing and developing a high-performing team, delivering outstanding customer experiences, maintaining operational standards, and driving profitability. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere, developing innovative beverage offerings, and ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and compliance throughout the venue. Duties & Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of bar staff, including bartenders, servers, and support team members. Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences. Demonstrate expert cocktail knowledge, including creating, refining, and maintaining signature cocktail menus. Develop seasonal and promotional drink menus that align with current trends and customer preferences. Advise customers on beverage selections, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and food pairings, ensuring an enhanced dining experience. Maintain and continually develop strong knowledge of wines, spirits, beers, and premium beverages. Manage inventory levels, including stock ordering, stock rotation, stock control, and minimising waste to maximise profitability. Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and licensing regulations. Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organisation, and presentation standards throughout the bar and restaurant. Recruit, train, mentor, and develop staff, promoting service excellence and responsible alcohol service. Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and efficiently. Monitor sales performance, labour costs, and stock margins, preparing reports for management review. Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork, motivation, and staff retention. Support the achievement of business targets through effective operational management and customer engagement initiatives. Requirements Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably within a bar, restaurant, or similar high-volume environment. Strong leadership and supervisory experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams. Extensive knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage service. Experience creating and implementing successful drink menus and promotional offerings. Excellent customer service and communication skills with a genuine passion for hospitality. Sound understanding of food safety standards and hospitality compliance requirements. Experience managing stock control, ordering, and cost management. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure. A proactive, hands-on management style with excellent problem-solving abilities. Hospitality management qualifications or relevant certifications are desirable. Previous experience in hotel, restaurant, or premium hospitality environments is advantageous. Barista experience is beneficial but not essential.
