Overview Job Skills / Requirements We are looking for experienced Security Officers to join our Tactical Mobile team! This team works throughout the Greater Victoria Region, but your shifts will start and end at the base site in Victoria. Your pay rate will start at $25/hr and increase to $27/hr after completing training, and you will be working 12-hour shifts** on a rotational basis. In this role, your main objective is the prevention of criminal activity in Victoria by conducting emergency responses to alarms, reporting security breaches and property damage, and directing unauthorized individuals to leave the premises. You will be driving a Paladin vehicle and also conducting foot patrols inside and outside of facilities, up and down stairs, and over uneven surfaces and terrains. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the security industry Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and a clean driving abstract Availability to work 12-hour shifts on a 4-day rotation Experience in handcuff training/use and self-defense; Advanced Security Training (AST) is preferred, but training will be provided to successful candidates Occupational First Aid Level 2 (IFA) certification is an asset; training will be provided to the successful candidates. Excellent customer service, professionalism, and communication Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Post-secondary education in Criminology & Law Enforcement is an asset Must be legally authorized to work in Canada Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols and surveillance of client facilities; provide access control as needed Respond to alarms, accident calls, and emergencies at client facilities within designated time frames Escalate and report issues to the Security Command Centre in a timely manner Dispatch and work with first responders (police/fire/ambulance) Write detailed incident reports for security incidents that occur during shift Build rapport with surrounding businesses to heighten the level of security Use discretion when handling confidential information Handle all incidents in a professional and calm demeanor Other duties as required to meet operational demands #VA3 Additional Information / Benefits Paladin Security: Making the World a Safer and Friendlier Place because we CARE!
