Excellent for a person who is ecstatic, friendly, and dedicated to providing first-rate customer service. In order to respond to general inquiries from guests, one must be able to retain knowledge about the facility. Responsibilities You will conduct the following responsibilities upholding DMAC, A Tarian Company’s commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community: Security Officers are responsible for maintaining security and safety throughout the organization - and serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities.Conduct hourly reports and scan toursPatrol area by foot Hourly reports MUST be conducted at the top/beginning of each hourMaintain a high visible presence at all times checking on the vendors during patrolsRespond to any calls for service sent by dispatch promptlyAsk any and all panhandlers to leave the property, call 911 if neededComplete detailed reports of all incidents and/or service callsInform the account manager or supervisor on duty of any incidents that are being reported.Perform other job-related duties as assignedShifts: Sun-Wed 6am-2pm or Thurs-Sat 2pm-11:30pm Qualifications Education & Experience: Armed Security Guard Card (required)MD Wear & Carry Permit (required)High School Diploma or GED (required)Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certificationsStrong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusMust be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shiftEmployment Verification: For applicable roles, previous employment must be verified through our background vendor. If any employment cannot be confirmed, candidates may be required to provide proof of employment (such as a pay stubs or W-2s). Desired Qualification of the Security Officer: Previous work experience with the public in a service settingArmed (Handgun) Qualifications: At least 21 years of ageAbility to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a weaponAbility to pass the initial and semi-annual DMAC, A Tarian Companyapproved firearms training course to demonstrate proficiency in use of firearmAbility to participate and meet the requirements of additional firearms training at the discretion of the firearms instructorAbility to demonstrate a working knowledge of the DMAC, A Tarian Company Firearms policies PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced. All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
