Job Title: Ward Clerk Hours: Monday – Friday either 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm (Weekends are also available) Location: Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital Trust Location: Cross Site Working - DRI Doncaster Royal Infirmary, DN2 5LT & BDGH, Kilton Hill, Worksop, S81 0BD Contract Type: Temporary – Minimum of 8 weeks Reference: 89234 What you’ll be responsible for: · Meet and greet all patients/visitors to the ward and allow access via any electronic entry system. · Answer the telephone promptly, take messages/action and re-direct calls as necessary. · Data entry in respect of all attendances outside clinic/telephone consultations. · Use the Trust system, locating, requesting and collection of patient’s case notes for planned and unplanned admissions. · Use of computer to input and extract patient and nursing information. You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust. · An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS · Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times · A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation You’ll have the following skills/experience: · Previous experience in customer service. · Previous experience of working within the NHS. · Previous experience of speaking with customers over the phone. · Previous experience of using Microsoft packages.
